Discern Collaborates with ViiV Healthcare to Produce an HIV Quality Fact Sheet

Recent scientific advances in understanding the impact of HIV treatment have demonstrated that achieving and maintaining viral suppression improves the health of those living with HIV and prevents the transmission of new infections. Further, data modeling shows that achieving viral suppression among people living with HIV is the single most effective strategy for reducing new infections and ending the epidemic in the United States.

ViiV Healthcare is a global specialist HIV company dedicated to delivering advances in treatment and care for people living with HIV.  ViiV believes that quality metrics related to viral load suppression (VLS) can help truly end the HIV Epidemic. To support advancing quality in HIV care, a Discern Health team developed an HIV Quality Fact Sheet to assist ViiV in furthering efforts to educate policy makers on the importance of tracking and publicly reporting VLS rates across federal quality programs in Medicare and Medicaid Fee for Service and Medicaid Managed Care Organizations.
