Discern Health Adds New Project Staff

Katy McConnell joined Discern in January 2018 as a project analyst. She supports multiple projects related to quality measurement in oncology care. Prior to joining Discern, Katy conducted qualitative research on the role of public health social workers in the global health sphere at Boston University’s Center for Innovation in Social Work and Health. While pursuing her dual MPH/MSW degree at Boston University, she provided mental health counseling and therapeutic services in individual and group settings to populations with diverse needs. Additionally, she collaborated with multidisciplinary teams in school and outpatient settings to coordinate mental health care.

Alie Tawah joined Discern Health as a project analyst in February having completed dual MPH and MBA degrees from Johns Hopkins University. Her prior experience with Evidera, a life science research consulting firm, will provide a strong base from which to launch her Discern career. Alie’s initial projects are focused on developing a wide array of educational materials to augment quality measure initiatives.
