Discern Health Supports Comments on NQF Patient-Reported Outcomes Draft Report

August 2020

The National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC) submitted comments to the National Quality Forum (NQF) regarding the Patient-Reported Outcomes: Best Practices on Selection and Data Collection draft report. In partnership with Discern Health, NPC previously conducted research on patient-reported measures in oncology, and these results are available in the 2019 white paper, Improving Patient-reported Measures in Oncology. This research provided the foundation for NPC’s comments on NQF’s draft report. The comments applaud NQF’s focus on patient engagement (but suggest expanding to caregivers), request more inclusive terminology and domains to capture patient experience, and recommend additional discussion of funding.
